Janice is an arts manager, producer, and award-winning stage manager who has been a theatre maker for as long as she can remember. Originally from Prince Edward Island/Epekwitk, Janice began her career as an actor, performing on stages and in schools across the Maritimes. Upon completion of her degree in Theatre Studies at Acadia University, she moved to Toronto where she continued as a performer before transitioning into stage management and eventually discovering her passion for producing and arts management. With an honours certificate in Arts Administration & Cultural Management from Humber College, Janice spent twelve impactful years at The Company Theatre, producing acclaimed productions in partnership with companies such as Canadian Stage (The Test, Speaking in Tongues, Belleville, Domesticated, John), Crow’s Theatre (The Seagull), Outside the March (Jerusalem), and Mirvish Productions (Things I Know to be True). While at The Company Theatre, she also co-founded Intermission Magazine, Canada’s leading online performing arts magazine. As a freelance producer, Janice has had the honour of working with Shakespeare in the Ruff (Otîhêw, Richard Three, A Witch in Algiers, Tiff’ny of Athens), That Arts Group (Angels in America, That Choir), Theatrefront (The Orange Dot, Mules), and Outliers Theatre Collective (Life Sucks).
