Help Roseneath Theatre Bring ‘Spirit Horse’ to Schools Across Canada!

Canada Giving Challenge ends today! Donate to our tour of Spirit Horse and help us bring this amazing production to underserved schools across the province. Through this fundraiser we are seeking support to help subsidize touring costs, allowing us to continue to ensure equal access to quality performing arts experiences for young people in Canada. For every $1 donated in June Roseneath Theatre is entered to win $10,000!

Since its premiere at the Luminato Festival 10 years ago, Spirit Horse has visited hundreds of schools and theatres from Ontario to British Columbia – reaching over 100,000 children across Canada! This year’s ambitious tour will start in Northern Ontario, then journey to Vancouver for two weeks at Carousel Theatre, before returning to finish the tour in Ottawa and Toronto. Challenging and entertaining, Spirit Horse helps to open dialogue with young people about racism, bullying, and Indigenous culture while providing a highly theatrical and imaginative performance in which three actors play over 65 characters and are accompanied by a live musician!

We are thrilled to again bring this important play to schools across Canada, please help us to support this amazing production by donating here:

“Your play has driven the point that racism hurts, that it is disrespectful and cruel. During times of racism in your play, it made people feel uncomfortable, it made them see that it is wrong. A lot of our problems have stopped because the play has shown them how a victim of racism feels, what it makes the victim thinks. Racism has still not disappeared from our school, but some of our students are starting to stand up to it and shutting it down. Students are realizing that deep down in our souls we are all people and that life is too short to make enemies. I hope that the lesson we learned from this play will carry on into the future and make Atikokan and Canada a better place, no matter what colour our skin is. Thank you for a thought provoking play and a valuable lesson.” – Grant L., AHS Gr.7, on Spirit Horse
