About the Play

Dib and Dob and the Journey Home is a comic adventure (with catchy songs and music) about two brothers who are lost and found. Wandering in the forest, Dib and Dob – always arguing in their unique Twinspeak – must overcome obstacles and
conquer their fears in order to find home. But imagination can turn the ordinary into the very, very scary! Broad comedy, sight gags, and gymnastics energize this fun-filled fable as the twins resolve their differences and rediscover
brotherly love. Guaranteed to keep your children laughing.

“…a delightful piece of theatre for young audiences that reminds us all just how exciting the theatrical voyage can be for any age.” –Toronto Sun

About Roseneath Theatre’s 30th Anniversary Season

Roseneath Theatre has been a positive force in Theatre for Young Audiences in Canada and abroad for three decades, building an outstanding repertoire of original Canadian plays. The company’s work has been presented all over North America and to parts of Europe and the Pacific Rim, reaching an annual audience of up to 100,000 people.

Dib and Dob and the Journey Home will be followed up by a remount of Hannah Moscovitch’s critically acclaimed In This World (Toronto launch, High School tour) and the world premiere of Bea Pizano’s La Maleta (International Showcase, Toronto Launch and Middle School tour).

It will be a very busy couple of months for Artistic Director Andrew Lamb, who will be directing all three pieces. Says Lamb of Roseneath’s 30th Anniversary Season:

“I believe live theatre is a powerful catalyst for discussion around important issues and challenges facing today’s young people … This anniversary season celebrates the best of what has made Roseneath successful for three decades – premiering of a new work, remounting of productions from our repertoire and partnerships with other theatre companies in Canada.”

The first leg of Roseneath’s 30th Anniversary Season featured a SOLD-OUT Fall presentation of Betty Quan’s Wired, from Vancouver’s Green Thumb Theatre.

Roseneath Theatre was recently nominated for the Ontario Premier’s Award of Excellence in the Arts. Roseneath has also been nominated for 34 Dora Mavor Moore Awards and has won a total of 13 Awards.

This tour is made possible in part by a grant from the Ontario Arts Council’s National and International Touring program.
